Whew, I took tons of pictures this evening at my cousin’s wedding banquet. Let’s see, 366 pics. Wowsers! There was food, cake, and lots of smiling faces. I also wanted to send out a great big THANKS to Wilco for lending me his camera for the evening.

Anyhoo, I’m pretty tired now, so I’m gonna sign off.

Well, I’m glad to say that with all the people we crammed into our house, the house didn’t fall down. Woohoo! Aside from that, we had so much food on the tables. It was crazy! Then after the meal, we consolidated the leftovers onto single plates and I swear there was enough food to feed 15 people.

I digress. So I got this in the mail today:

[insert letter excerpt here]

… has determined that a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2001, 2002 and 2003 model year vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission.

…your vehicle may have been produced with an improperly manufacture transmission parking rod. When the transmission selector lever is placed in the “P” (Park) position, the transmission park mechanism that is intended to hold your vehicle may not engage.

[end quote]

Son of a… Well, luckily nothing has happened yet. I’m also glad that I don’t live on a hill. I suppose when the parts are available at the dealership, I’ll be having my car fixed for that.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Turkey #1 is now happily baking in the oven while Turkey #2 is being prepared. The tables are all set up and ready for plates and utensils. My full-size bed is all ready for the numerous bags and purses which plan to rest on it during the feast.

We are ready. Bring on the madness.

Wow, it was weird yesterday. I was driving around my area and I noticed that all the street lamps and houses were dark. uh oh.. not a good sign. As I pulled up to my neighborhood, I saw some blocks with light, which seemed promising. Unfortunately, when I got to my house, all was dark.

I believe the power outtage started around 9:15, and the power didn’t come back on until a little after midnight. By then, I was all comfy in bed. Heh, it’s kinda weird having to do everything by candle light. It made me kinda imagine what it would’ve been like back in the day where people walked around their homes with candles and kerosene lamps.

A few more hours until quitting time. Woohoo! Long weekend baby!!

Woah, it’s Monday already. *sigh* That’s okay though, because it’s Thanksgiving week! Woohoo! Gotta love those 3-day work weeks, PLUS, there’s going to be scrumptous turkey for me to eat. *gobble gobble*

Lately, I’ve felt like I’ve been thrust into some great whirlwind of activity. Just when I was settling down at my job, things totally got flipped upside-down with the departure of one of my co-workers. I’ve got some major boots to fill and it’s quite intimidating. Then I’ve also been very busy lately so my room is kind of a mess and then there’s the upcoming holiday shopping that will most likely burn a great big hole in my wallet. Hehe. These aren’t bad things really, it’s just a lot of things to think about.

Although my mind has been split up all over the place lately, I must say that I’m still smiling. Things are going well and I’m finally settled comfortably into my mid-twenties.

Hmm.. I’m thinking about buying myself a new scarf. I think I want a more colorful one. Blah, okay, time to get back to work.

Time flies when you’re having fun. I can’t believe that I’ve almost been at my job for 2 months already. It’s definitely been challenging to just kinda jump into the midst of a circus. I mean, there’s stuff going on all the time and you just kind of have to pick up the reigns and ride.

I’ve managed for the most part to get a handle on my job, knowing that for at least the first 6 months, I’ll be learning not only how to do my job, but about the field as well. I figured that I’d have other people to rely on and ask questions when I’m stuck, but today marked the last day the my safety net would hang, and the first day of my adventure in leading the way on my own.

Starting Monday, I’ll have to take care of things and be the person who others ask. Hope I can fill those shoes.

Happy Friday.

Super neato! Yesterday, I got to go to Teatro ZinZanni. My boss was invited and there was an extra ticket so she invited me. Woohoo!

If you don’t know what it is, the show is kind of a dinner theater experience. The waitstaff is dressed up in costume and do some singing and dancing. Between courses of the set meal, performers come out to entertain the crowd. This one guy juggled an ax, a hatchet, and a cleaver and during another performance, juggled a ball of wonderbread, country crock, and small chicken. Yes, and DID say, a small chicken. There were other performances reminiscent of cirque du soleil.

The dining area is a round room with a stage on one part with tables surrounding an area in the center. This center “stage” is where most of the performances took place. When I first stepped in, I felt like I was in/on a carousel decorated to be an old Paris cabaret.

So after a month’s break of volleyball, I played at the gym I usually go to yesterday. Oh my goodness, I couldn’t believe how sucky I played. I mean, it was UGLY. I don’t think I’ve played that terribly since I was learning to play the game. I suppose I may be exaggerating a bit, but that’s how it felt like.

I mean, I’ve played volleyball for more than half my life. Most of the days that I play, I can usually do most of the stuff in my sleep, but it seemed like I could do no right. *sigh* It gets really frustrating when you know you can do something, but on some off day, you can’t. How do you deal with it? For me, I just kept trying and trying until the gym closed. Hey, at least I didn’t give up right?

What are some of your pet peeves? I was talking with a friend about pet peeves because we were swapping some stories of sorts. I couldn’t think of a whole bunch, but I after the conversation was over and we had parted ways, I thought up some, in no particular order:

people who lie, rude drivers, unnecessary waiting (especially for the Muni), people who write checks at the supermarket.

I’m going to think up some more tomorrow.
