Unsubscribe!!

Why do I get so much spam? I don’t get it. I always opt out for emails whenever I have to sign up for an account somewhere. Yet still, I get the junkmail from Amazon, Buy.com, Bluefly, and everywhere else. Well, I’m finally taking the time to unsubscribe from their lists and hopefully my junk mail box will only be full of amazing too-good-to-be-true offers of riches from random dudes in Africa.

Anyway, I also get random junk mail, and so I’m trying to get rid of that by changing my email address to something totally random that’s not mine. Hopefully that will rid them of that. It’s better that they have a fake email for me than a real one.

Here’s to hoping for a spamless 2009!

Not Made in China

So my friend said that she’s been trying to make an effort to buy things not made in China. Primarily because of all the shortcuts that they have taken in manufacturing goods that have been harmful to pets and people. She’s concerned that there maybe be more things that just haven’t been reported yet.

I thought about it and wondered exactly how hard it would be to do that. In fact, how about just buying goods made only in the USA? Do we as a country make anything anymore?

I may try that experiment but I’m almost certain that I will fail. If I aimed only to buy goods that were made in the US, then I think that I will end up not buying anything at all. Maybe I’ll start with stuff not made in China. We gotta help our own economy out by buying our own stuff!

Multiple Maids

So I’ve been to a few weddings now where I noticed that there were either no maids of honor (they had only bridesmaids) or they had multiple maids of honor. Hmm… that always confuses me because I grew up only seeing one person in that role.

I’ve had friends go through this same scenario where they couldn’t decide because they were equally close to people in their wedding party? Well, no matter what, you need to choose. Cuz if everyone is special, then there’s no point in giving anyone that title. The way I see it, the person standing the closest and/or signs your marriage license is the moh.

If you’re still stuck, then pick the person who will do the best job as moh and all the responsibilities that may go along with it.

If they’re really your friend, they shouldn’t make a big deal out of it since it can be a hard decision. You have enough things to worry about when planning a wedding and your closest girlfriends being annoyed about not being moh shouldn’t be one of them.
